Idol Returns, Does Anyone Care?

on January 19, 2012

American Idol returned for its 11th season last night to a much smaller audience than last year. Idol suffered a 27% drop in viewership. Ouch!

Even though American Idol is the original, there is a lot of singing competition competition out there these days- The X-Factor, The Voice, and America’s Got Talent, just to name a few. Can you even remember who won Idol last year? That’s what we thought.

You can always tell who Idol is getting behind early. They’re already pulling for Dave Mathew’s imitator Phillip Phillips. Why do the DM copy cats always not only sing like him but wear their guitars like him and do that silly foot shuffle as well? It’s a mystery.

Phillips is not our thing but you should go do your best Jennifer Lopez impression and judge for yourself.

Seacrest out!

The Rocket’s Red Glare

on January 13, 2012

Word is that Kelly Clarkson is going to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on Feb. 5th.

This won’t be Clarkson’s first rodeo. She has performed the National Anthem at a number of sporting events (see video from 2006 NFL game) since she shot to stardom on the wings of season one of American Idol.

We have to wonder if she’ll try and mix it up a little? Let’s just hope for her sake that there isn’t a “wardrobe malfunction”.

Guess Who’s Back!

January 10, 2012
