We’ve got Elton on the brain. He opened the GRAMMYs last week with Lady Gaga, and he played here in Seattle this weekend. Sad to say we missed the show.
Elton at Seattle’s Coliseum was the first concert we ever went to, on Oct. 12, 1974.
How does a guy stay at the top of the heap for 40 years? Talent. Check out the clip below, also from ’74. The number of people who can write songs this good and sing and play this well night after night, year after year is infinitesimal…one in a billion. The rest of us do what we can with hard work and passion and perseverance. Elton’s just plain awesome.
