We recently finished reading Wynton Marsalis’s wonderful book Moving to Higher Ground: How Jazz Can Change Your Life, which we can unequivocally recommend to any musician, anyone who likes music, anyone who likes art, anyone who wants a deeper understanding of what it means to be an American or anyone who just generally likes being alive.
A lot of jazz these days is over-thought, over-played, stale or otherwise not engaging. The video below reminds us of just how sweet it can be to hear people make these beautiful sounds together.
